REVIEW: A Passion Denied by Julie Lessman

A Passion Denied by Julie Lessman

Book 3 of the The Daughters of Boston Series

They’re back! The delightful O’Conner sisters we’ve fallen in love with and watched as they fell in love with Mitch and Collin. This time we treated to Beth’s story, she’s come of age, cut her hair short and changed her name to Lizzie and she’s after Brady.

Brady fights his attraction to Beth. He has a secret past that he can’t seem to accept that forgiveness has been given. He tries to see Beth as anything but a Lizzie. Will he be able to fight off an O’Conner woman?

A Passion Denied gave me something most series books fail to deliver. Lessman doesn’t let previous characters wither away, she keeps them alive and part of the story. They don’t just marry or move away and live happily ever after. We get to see what happens to Charity and Faith as newlyweds.

This book has several twists I didn’t see coming and wasn’t quite sure how they would be resolved. Once again Lessman delivers a book worth savoring.

One commenter will get the opportunity to read this book! Julie Lessman has graciously offered to give one copy of A Passion Denied to someone who posts a comment.

Here are the rules. YOU MUST LEAVE a contact email in your comment. The Comment Contest will end at 9:00 p.m. CST on May 13.

Sounds like a good read! I’ll have to pick up a copy if I don’t win 🙂 liz@liztolsma.com

  2. Hey, LIZ, thanks SO much for dropping by and for your interest. Maybe you won’t have to buy a copy, though, as I am giving a lot of books away on blog interviews in the next two months, so be sure to check my website calendar at http://www.julielessman.com, okay?

And, DIANA, thank you SO VERY MUCH for hosting me today AND for the wonderful review, my friend!

    Hugs,
    Julie

  3. I haven’t read the third book yet, (I am soon though,(-:) but I totally agree with you Diana, I love the fact that after the first book we’re still able to see what happens in the lives of those characters in the next book! In most books we’re always left wondering what happens to the other characters even if the books are part of a series…I hate that! That’s probably why I love these books so much! Please DON’T enter me to win…I already have a copy on the way!

I hope you don’t mind I’m still “stalking” you Julie…I just love to read what others have to say about your books and I always have to comment on what they say LOL!!!!

  4. Merry says:

MEZ … same goes for you, sweetie, only we have to get you to win a book, don’t we?? Well, you’re on the right track, for sure! Good luck!

CAROLYNN!!! Gotta get you the third book too, don’t we? There’s nobody I’d rather see win than my favorite commenters who track me down on every blog interview — THANK YOU!!

Great review Diana. I have read A Passion Denied already and reviewed it on my blog as well so don’t enter me in the drawing. I just wanted to post to let you know I was here. Julie you are one busy lady hopping from one post to the next and keeping up with them all. Kudos! You’re great.

  12. LINDA, soooo glad you have heard of my books! Now we just have to get one in your hot, little hands, girl!! Good luck!

NAOMI, trust me, I would LOVE to help you get your hands on one of my books! A good way to try and do that is to check out my website calendar on a regular basis because I have lots of giveaway interviews posted there and will be posting a few more in the weeks ahead.

KELLIE, I hope you think it’s “amazing” if and when you do read it, but make sure you start with book 1 in this series, A Passion Most Pure, okay? This is one series that definitely needs to be read in order to get the most out of it due to a number of HUGE surprises.

Hey, PATTY, so great to see you here! And “crazed” might be a better word right now with a June 1st deadline on book 4, but I do love interacting with those who comment on my interviews, so that helps. Thanks for stopping by!

    Hugs,
    Julie

Oh my goodness!!! I love this book!! It is AMAZING!!! There are so many twists and turns – and so much romance and passion – and the HUMOR!! – OH MY GOODNESS!!! You will laugh, cry (or bawl in my case), grieve, love, and just basically LIVE LIFE with these characters!!! Julie Lessman is my new all-time favorite author, and all 3 of her books in the Daughters of Boston series are MUST HAVE’S for any Christian fiction lover’s shelf!! I will definitely be reading them over and over!!! Trust me!!! You will not be disappointed!!! And a side note – I am also BLOWN AWAY by Julie herself!! She not only an author who takes the time to actually READ her fan emails – but she actually RESPONDS to them…usually right away (like in the same day – sometimes the same hour!!) She GENUINELY CARES and LOVES her readers!!!! She is truly a cut above the rest!!!!!
